AWS Wins Again at the e-Services Philippines 2008 Awards
February 15, 2008

For the 6th straight year, Advanced World Systems, Inc. (AWS) emerged as a winner during the "e-Services Philippines 2008 (ESP) Awards" contest held on February 11-12, 2008, at the SMX Convention Center in Manila.

The "ATM Systems Development Project for a Major Bank in Japan" of AWS emerged as the Winner for the "Outstanding Client Application of the Year" category under the Software Development & Maintenance Sector. AWS other entry, Test Management System (TEMS), also made it as one of the finalists in the same category.

For 2 years now, AWS has been a partner of IBM Japan in providing ATM software development services to major and regional banks in Japan. Initial development involved 365 Days Operation support, Enet network support, Time Deposit extension support and IC Card support. Because of the success of the initial development, IBM Japan outsourced to AWS the development and function update of the ATM Systems of 3 other regional banks in Japan. And as a manifestation of customer satisfaction, 9 other regional banks are also in the pipeline to be done by AWS.

According to Mr. Ramil Villanueva, AWS' AVP for Corporate Planning, this year's ESP Awards is by far the most difficult. The contest is now open to even non-exhibitors of e-Services, so any IT company in the Philippines can actually participate. The category wherein AWS also entered was the most competitive. While other categories and other sectors had only 1 to 2 finalists, the "Client Application of the Year" category under the Software Development & Maintenance sector had 7 finalists. "For me, this is the sweetest among the awards we have received so far, as there were 7 finalists in the same category. The is even sweeter than the 3 Grand Prize awards we won last year.", added Mr. Villanueva.

Last year was very special for the Company as it bagged 3 Grand Prizes in the yearly award - AWS Center for Technology Incubation (ACTION) was the winner for "Outstanding Company Program", the Manufacturing Systems Development for SCM was judged "Offshore Project of the Year," and the High Definition ClipStation Project bagged the "Most Creative Application of the Year" award. In 2006, AWS' Certificate and Graduate Record Management System (CGRM) was given a Special Citation Award in the Public Service Category. AWS' website was judged as Best Website in 2005, while in 2004, AWS' Infectious Disease Data Management System (IDDMS) was awarded as 1st Runner-up in the Health Solutions Category. And in the year 2003, AWS' Multi-Monitor Control Panel (MMCP) was awarded as Grand Prize Winner under the e-Business Solutions Category
