AWS Tops the PhilNITS-SW Regular Exam
May 11, 2007

AWS has continuously proven its global competitiveness as an IT Company, showing an excellent performance during the April 2007 PhilNITS-FE exam with an impressive 74% passing ratio for its examinees. This is one of the highest passing averages AWS had since the 2001 Pilot exam. This is also much higher than the Philippines passing average of 27%.

With this performance, AWS once again achieved the highest passing ratio amongst all participating organizations in the Philippines.

As its contribution to the Philippines' overall performance for the said exam, AWS produced 28 of the total 130 passers nationwide.

Since the PhilNITS-FE regular exam in 2002, AWS have contributed 32%, or 150 of the total 472 PhilNITS-FE passers in the Philippines.

This very good performance of AWS in the PhilNITS-FE exam proves that the Filipino IT Engineers are at par with, or even better than, other Asian countries in terms of IT competency. During the April 2007 PhilNITS-FE exam, the Philippines' 27% and 130 passers is higher than other Asian countries such as Vietnam with 23% and 99 passers, Mongolia with 2% and 3 passers, and Thailand with 11% and 24 passers.

The Philippine National IT Standard (PhilNITS) Fundamental Engineer (FE) certification exam is a result of an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan to have a common standard in the Asian region in measuring the competency of their IT engineers in the fundamentals of IT. It is now officially recognized by the Philippines and Japan, together with six other Asian countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Mongolia and Vietnam).

The PhilNITS-FE examination is based on the certification program of the Japan Information Technology Engineers Examination Center (JITEC) which has the following structure and categories as illustrated.
