Advanced World Systems, Inc. launched its second AWS' Center for Technology Incubation (ACTION) training center last May 4, 2005 at its Cebu office located at the PDI Condominium in Banilad, Cebu City. First established in AWS Makati two years ago, the Cebu counterpart will likewise be geared towards developing fresh graduates (or those with less than 2 years of IT experience) into well rounded and globally competitive IT engineers who will also be proficient in Nihongo.

During the launching ceremony, ACTION Cebu's pioneering batch, which consists of 9 trainees for AWS and 5 for the Yamato Systems Development Japan, were joined by Advanced World Systems, Inc. management team and staff headed by its president, Mr. Akira Konishi. Assisting Mr. Konishi in the symbolic ribbon cutting was Mr. Kensuke Saito, the Commercial Attache of the Embassy of Japan, who also delivered the affair's keynote address. Present were representatives from JETRO, PhilNITS, CEDF-IT, Cebu Daily News, and the different universities where the trainees have graduated from. Guests from CIPC, JCCI and Board of Investments were also invited to grace the occasion.

ACTION trainees are required to undergo a five month intensive training program focusing on 4 key aspects: Fundamental IT skills, Technical skills, Professional business skills, and Japanese language skills. The program aims to produce engineers who are capable of developing enterprise business solutions and embedded systems with focus on Open Source environment using emerging technologies; and to produce responsible professional engineers who understand Japanese business practices and can conduct software development projects with Japanese clients in the Japanese language.

With the ACTION initiative in place, Advanced World Systems, Inc. aspires not only to improve the quality of its new engineers, but also to elevate the standards of the Philippine IT industry by providing it with world class IT professionals capable of taking on the demands of the world's IT market.
