Advanced World Systems Successfully Conducts Nihongo Speech Contest
February 15, 2005

Advanced World Systems' 1st Internal Nihongo Speech Contest was held last January 14, 2005 simultaneously via video conferencing at the Makati and Cebu offices of the company The purpose of the contest was to showcase the Nihongo speech writing and speaking skills of the employees, and to prepare for the 32nd Speech Contest organized by the Japan Foundation, Manila.

From 41 candidate speakers, the top 7 from each business site (Alabang, Makati, Cebu) were chosen to deliver their speeches. Each employee composed a 5-minute speech in Nihongo and practiced delivery daily with each site's Japanese Language teachers.

The contest was a big success, and motivated many employees in their Nihongo studies. In addition, one of our Cebu employees, Jessica Cordova won 3rd prize in the 32nd Speech contest held in Manila.

The 2nd Internal Speech Contest will be held again in January next year, and a Tanabata Nihongo Contest is being planned to be held this coming July. It is management's hope that the employees will gain motivation and will be able to feel closer to Nihongo and Japan through these events.
