AWS employee bags top prize at the 44th Nihongo Speech Contest by Japan Foundation Manila
February 27, 2017

Every year, the Japan Foundation Manila hosts the Nihongo Speech Contest where Filipino students and professionals can showcase their linguistic skills and compete with first-class contestants from different language institutions, universities, and organizations across the country.

This year's contest, now on its 44th year, was held last February 25 at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall, EDSA, Mandaluyong City. It was one of the events of the 12th Nihongo Fiesta which featured different activities on Japanese culture such as live performances, Nihongo Quiz Bee, film showing, and others.

The speech contest, definitely the highlight of the Nihongo Fiesta, was won by one of our Research and Development engineers, Quincyanne Mari "Yanyan" Tampo. Yanyan is one of our employees who underwent our ACTION training program which equip entry-level engineers with technical knowledge and Japanese language capability. Yanyan's winning speech was entitled (Simply Go Forward - Let's Walk Together). As the overall champion of this contest, she won an all-expense-paid week-long study tour in Japan.

Advanced World Systems continuously cooperate with different Japanese institutions and actively participate in promoted events which nurture both technical and cultural skills.
